Plastic
Mold Steels

Plastic mold steels are used in manufacturing processes such as injection, extrusion, and inflating in which plastic raw materials are shaped. The properties expected from such steels include high wear resistance, very good corrosion resistance, very good polishability, patternability, high thermal conductivity, and surface machinability. They are usually released to the market as pre-hardened but are also available in qualities that can be hardened later with thermal treatment.
